Same Day Crowns
We value our patients time and comfort greatly, and that is why we stay up-to-date with the latest in dental technology. We now offer same day crowns. Our office has recently installed CEREC® equipment, which allows us to provide our patients with natural-looking ceramic crowns, in a single visit. You no longer need to schedule several appointments, or wear a temporary crown while you wait for your restoration to be made at an off-site laboratory. We can create and place your new crown in just ONE office visit!
How does CEREC work? Using a special camera and a computerized system, we design your dental restoration while you relax in the dental chair!
- First, we will prepare your tooth for the crown and then take a photo of your tooth using a special camera.
- Next, a 3D model of your tooth is created on the computer screen where the dentist uses CAD technology to design the restoration to the exact fit required.
- We will then use the extremely accurate CAM system to create your crown. Once the crown has been milled we will match it to the rest of your teeth for a totally natural appearance.
- Finally, the dentist bonds the new crown to the surface of the tooth. The whole process takes about two hours.
This new dental innovation eliminates the need for messy impressions and temporary crowns. With our same-day crown treatment, you will receive the same quality and durability as a restoration made in a dental lab.
